How Tarot Timing Works

The most common question I am asked is not what. It is when. When will he text? When will the job come? When will I meet the person I am meant to be with? Timing is one of the most valuable parts of a reading, and also one of the most misunderstood.
Timing is a direction, not a date stamp
In forty-five years of reading I have learned that timing works like weather. I can tell you which way the wind is blowing and roughly when the change arrives, but people make choices, and choices move things. That is why a good timing answer always comes with the signs that appear just before the event, so you can recognise it as it approaches.
How the cards point to time
Many readers link the four suits of the tarot to the seasons. Wands are often read as spring, Cups as summer, Swords as autumn and Pentacles as winter. Fast cards such as the Eight of Wands suggest days or weeks; slow cards such as the Four of Pentacles suggest waiting. Some readers count cards, some read the position in the spread. I use these as a guide and then trust what I feel.
Timing without cards
In intuitive readings, such as clairvoyant and telepathy readings, timing comes as an impression: a month that keeps returning, a season, a feeling of soon or not yet. I write it the way it comes to me, and I say clearly when the timing is firm and when it is still forming.
Why timing can change
- You or the other person make a different choice
- Something outside your control speeds things up or slows them down
- The situation was still forming when the reading was done
This is not a weakness of a reading. It is the honest shape of the future. A reading shows you the most likely path today, and that knowledge is exactly what helps you act.
